Long Shoals Campsite – River Mile 56.75

 

RiverLink owns this land which was donated specifically for use as an overnight paddle camping site. It is situated in a large floodplain area suitable for numerous tents and groups on river right prior to the Long Shoals Rd. Bridge. You will pass by a pumping station on river right just before reaching the access to the campsites. Four large tent pads with fire rings are available, and there is room for additional tents. The site will hold up to 20 people.

Free public access camping. Reservations Required.

Long Shoals Campsite

Ivy River Campsite – River Mile 91.25

 

This campsite is located on river left 0.25 miles past confluence of the Ivy River, featuring a large tent pad, fire pit, privy, and wooden stair access. Campsite will hold up to 20 people.

Free public access camping. Reservations required.

Ivy River Campsite

Big Pine Campsite – River Mile 101

 

This campsite can host groups up to 20. Camping shelter and tent space are available, ADA fire ring, picnic table, and outhouse. Campsite is directly across from the Barnard River Park. Exit on river left, on the beach between Big Pine Creek confluence with the French Broad and the bridge. You will need to carry your boat up a dirt road to the road. Walk down Anderson Branch Rd, to the left about 100 yards and campsite will be on right side of road. Campsite is adjacent to Conservation Easement, please be considerate.

Free public access camping. Reservations required.
