RiverLink is working with the UNC Asheville Foundation, City of Asheville, and Montford Community to complete a 1,300 linear foot greenway connection from Catawba St. to W.T Weaver Blvd. The greenway will incorporate two stormwater wetlands which will treat water runoff from the greenway, roads and other impervious surfaces. Additionally these wetlands will provide an educational resource for the community and local schools. RiverLink is working with the local community to remove invasive species and replant native species along the Reed Creek to improve the riparian habitat along the creek.
