Investigate a local stream’s water quality by looking for aquatic insects. Build your own watershed model and find out how human activities impact the river. Create river-inspired art and poetry. Volunteer for our Clean Stream Team. And of course, explore the river by kayak, canoe, raft, or tube!
At our summer camp we are…
Naturalists: we take time daily to sketch and write in our nature notebooks
Adventurers: we raft and swim and hike throughout the watershed
Wildlife biologists: we explore places like the Pisgah Education Center, Fish Hatchery and the UNCA Botanical Gardens
Environmental stewards: we discuss soil erosion and invasive species and help restore habitat
