Do you have a stream on your property? Would you like to learn about a cost-effective way to stop streambank erosion and mitigate flooding by using native plants? The Town of Black Mountain is partnering with local non-profit RiverLink to offer a FREE workshop on live staking your streambank to prevent erosion. Participants will receive a bundle of 10 live stakes to plant, including silky dogwood, elderberry, and silky willow! This workshop will also discuss the connection between stormwater and flooding, while presenting tools to increase flood resilience including stream bank protection, riparian buffers, stormwater control measures, government resources, etc.
Registration is limited to Black Mountain residents, and only 25 spots are available.
