Anything That Floats Parade

Anything That Floats Parade

Show the River your wacky side

The Anything That Floats Parade is where people from all walks of life come and express their creativity on the river. Teams work together to create all sorts of river vessels; some simple, some elaborate, some made from recycled materials, and others made with lots of flair. The sky is the limit, as long as it floats. The whole parade is hosted during the annual RiverFest Music Festival at New Belgium where people can watch the floats go by from the liquid center deck.

Where does the raft parade Start?
Rafts are launched at Hominy Creek Park. All floaters will need to sign a liability form when they arrive.

What time should my team be at Hominy Creek?
Each team will have a specific launch time. You should show up 30 minutes before your specified launch time to allow for check in, affix your number to your raft, have an official photo taken of the entire team of floaters and drop off your raft. Launching may be delayed for unexpected reasons, so be prepared to be flexible and follow the guidance from the RiverLink Volunteers.

Where do the rafts take out?
Take-out is at the Craven St Boat Launch where your finish will be noted. This dock is almost directly across from New Belgium Brewery.  Rafts must finish here to qualify as a “winner”. Volunteers will direct you to the take out site and help get your float out of the water. This take-out is within walking distance to New Belgium where RiverFest will be happening, so we encourage floaters to check it out.

Parking for cars and trailers?

There is limited space for vehicles at this event so please carpool as much as possible. There will be parking at Hominy Creek and space to turn trailers around, however floaters should not plan to leave trailers here. We will reserve space at our Cotton Mill property (Directly across from the Craven St. take-out) for trailers and floats once they get off the water.

Official Photos
A photographer will take a photo of your team and your raft. Please have your raft and your full team available for this official photograph 10 minutes prior to launch time. RiverLink Volunteers will help you get set up with the photographer. Pictures will be available on the web.
