(828) 252-8474 x 111
Jack’s been gratefully living in Western North Carolina since 2010. A native of northern Virginia, he studied geography, GIS, and recreation management at Appalachian State University in Boone, and has been working on land protection, conservation, water quality, and outdoor recreation projects in the southern Appalachians, and beyond, ever since.
Jack’s burgeoning career includes stewarding conservation easements for land trusts in North Carolina, South Carolina and Idaho; curating a nationwide spatial database and website for paddling opportunities; identifying, cataloguing and planning stream restoration projects for sake of improving native fish habitat; and dozens of consulting-based GIS and cartography projects with many of the nation’s leaders in advocating-for responsible protection, stewardship and access to our rivers and trails.
When not at work, Jack spends his free time where there is greenery and gradient – paddling, biking, or jogging. He also enjoys making maps, baking bread, listening to music, and reading neat books.
