Chloe Green

Watershed Coordinator
Chloe graduated from the University of North Carolina Asheville with her Bachelors in Environmental Science concentration Earth Science, and Certificate in Sustainability. Her undergraduate experience was driven by a deep love for the geology and ecology of Appalachia. Partnered with Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, she taught Appalachian ecology to local schools. As field assistant under the United States Geological Survey, she collected geologic data throughout the Spruce Pine region. Her undergraduate research thesis utilized ArcGIS Pro to analyze nine stream profiles in search of “knickpoints” related to regional faulting.
Following Helene, Chloe became interested in applying GIS as a tool to visualize environmental impacts. This led her to the NASA DEVELOP program where she aimed to inform environmental decision-making on a water resources project focused on satellite-derived soil moisture. This research was extended through an opportunity with the North Carolina Institute for Climate Studies. Today, Chloe seeks to combine her love for science communication and GIS with conservation and climate resilience.
As Watershed Coordinator for RiverLink, Chloe seeks to gain hands-on experience in streambank and habitat restoration to promote long-term resilience for Appalachian communities and ecosystems.
