Hannah Coats

She/Her

Land Resources Manager

After serving for 18 months as RiverLink’s AmeriCorps Stewardship Coordinator, Hannah was brought on full time to manage RiverLink’s Land Resources program. Before RiverLink, Hannah grew up in the close town of Marion, NC, on her family’s farm, where she helped her mom garden, her dad feed the chickens, and would often be found playing in the creek that runs through their property. For college, she wished to stay in the mountains she loved, so she decided to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science and a minor in Natural Resource Management from Western Carolina University, where she graduated from in 2021.

Her experiences both before serving with RiverLink and during her service fostered a deep love and appreciation for our environment and for the beautiful diversity of Western North Carolina.

Hannah is skilled in invasive plant management, plant ID, volunteer coordination, and holds a certification in Stream Repair from NC State Cooperative Extension. In her free time, she loves to be outside and hikes, bikes, or floats as much as she can, but when indoors she also enjoys cooking and baking.

Hannah is excited to serve RiverLink in a new capacity and use the skills she has developed to continue to support the conservation of our beloved rivers and streams.
