We are partnering with the Nature Center to host a stream cleanup, along the Swannanoa at Azalea Park, as part of their World Ocean Day celebration. Once you sign up for the cleanup by emailing volunteers@wildwnc.org, you will be sent a map that includes the cleanup route as well as parking and meeting locations.
There will be two groups; one that gets in the water and one that stays along the bank. So if you are hesitant to get in the water, we have an opportunity for you as well! We will provide all necessary tools and equipment. Closed-toed shoes are required for both groups. We also recommend water bottles and sunscreen.
The cleanup will be followed by a BioBlitz at the Nature Center.
