Is your water bill costing you more than you’d like? Would you like to recycle the rainwater that falls on your house? Come to this free workshop to learn how you can create a rain barrel, install it to your gutters, and improve water quality in your area!

Black Mountain residents will receive a FREE 55-gallon plastic barrel, conversion kit, and detailed instructions to create your own rain barrel. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Directing your gutters to a rain barrel, instead of into the road or lawn, has numerous benefits. The stored water can be used to water your garden, wash your car, or any other thing you can think of! By using rainwater, you save clean water and lower your water bill. By storing rainwater, you decrease the amount of stormwater that is rushing to waterways during rain events. This helps reduce stream bank erosion and pollution.

All spaces for this workshop have been filled.

This free workshop is sponsored by the Town of Black Mountain and Duke Energy Foundation. Registration is limited to Black Mountain residents.
