Southside Public Volunteer Days

The Southside Community Stormwater Project is a collaborative effort to address stormwater & flooding issues within a local community. RiverLink partnered with residents of the Southside Community, Wildlands Engineering, and the Asheville Housing Authority to construct a wetland with green stormwater infrastructure designed to capture and filter stormwater runoff and provide amenities at Erskine Apartments!

To maintain this park & all of its features, we host monthly public volunteer events on the

September 19th Date will run from 9:00AM – 11:00AM

All other dates will run from 10:00AM – 12:00PM

at Herb Watts Park –  64 Erskine St, Asheville, NC 28801

Please indicate in the form below which date(s) you would like to volunteer:

August 15th, September 19th, October 10th, November 14th

* On-street parking is available along Livingston St. and Erskine St.

* RiverLink will provide all necessary tools & gloves. Please wear closed-toed shoes and long pants for weeding. Please bring a water bottle and proper sun protection.

* All volunteer events are weather dependent. Staff will send out an email a day in advance if we need to cancel due to weather.

I understand that participation in any RiverLink volunteer project may include situations and/or work with equipment that could pose a potential physical risk to those involved. I understand that RiverLink staff will go over any potential hazards and best mitigation methods with volunteers before beginning any project. By signing below I hereby release, discharge, hold harmless, and forever acquit RiverLink or any other local sponsors/partners, and their representatives/employees from any liability that may arise from my participation in the volunteer project. Further, I assume all liability of any participants under that age of 18 for whom I am the parent/legal guardian/chaperone of. I agree to be respectful and inclusive of fellow volunteers and RiverLink staff. I consent to be included in photos or videos of this event for the purpose of social media use or marketing materials. I understand that this waiver has no expiration date.
